MANILA, Philippines — Chanda Romero and partner Jose Mari Alejandrino have made their union official with a “commitment ceremony”, the actress herself disclosed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In a text message to the Inquirer, Romero said the event took place May 17 at Tierra Maria in Tagaytay.

A commitment rite is as close to an official church wedding as you can get. It is a blessing (usually officiated by radical priests), said Romero

Who cares if they did it in church or not? What matters is their commitment to each other.

Wala bang copy editors ang Inquirer? “Chanda Romero and Jose Mari Alejandrino” ay two persons, so HAVE hindi HAS. Ok lang kung Taglish ang article, eh Ingles eh.
Anong sasabihin ng mga Ingliserong mga makakabasa? Grammatical errors gaya nito reflect sa qualidad ng ating journalism.
Yes, one word says a lot.

Modern english yan galing pa ng Harvard University. UP ka lang galing mahina english mo.

actually tama.. most americans.. when you look at their own english.. it’s quite difficult.. but when they hear it from foreigners, as long as nagkakaintindahan kayo OK lang.. no need to be highblood at all ahaaha.. basta’t di racist ung kausap mo eh.. OK lang.. TSAKA FYI wala pong OFFICIATING BODY na magcocorrect sa mga WRONG english GRAMMAR, unlike sa france/french at spain/spanish na meron.. I think it belongs to the past monarchies of those countries kaya my officiating body sila.. like L’Académie française (The French Academy) at Real Academia Espanola…

Still can’t get over what you did Chanda in Batch ’81. Keep doing it. Congratulations!

Why a commitment ceremony instead of a legal wedding? Are any of them still legally married to somebody else?
