Brillante Mendoza knighted

The French Ministry of Culture has awarded Filipino filmmaker Brillante Ma. Mendoza the title Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Artes et Lettres.

He is now a knight of the Order of Arts and Letters—joining the likes of George Clooney, Jude Law, Tim Burton, Rudolf Nureyev and Shakira.

Mendoza said he was happy to be the first Filipino filmmaker to be accorded the honor. Bayani San Diego Jr.
