Starlet’s real BF to hunky suitor: Back off
Many wondered why Hunky Suitor suddenly called off his pursuit of Sultry Starlet. Turned out, Powerful Personality, SS’ ex, was still very much in the picture—contrary to public perception.
Well, where there’s a will, there’s a way. HS and SS still managed to see each other on the sly—until PP got wind of the trysts and sent HS a box of bullets as gift.
HS got the message, loud and clear, and dropped SS posthaste.
Fading Hunk has incurred the ire of netizens. A mole says FH has the tendency to flood social media sites with his photos in various states of undress—at the gym, by the pool, in the dressing room. “Selfies,” in cyber parlance.
Is FH smitten with his own image, a la Narcissus? In those “self-portraits,” FH bares bulging pecs and dashboard abs. No one’s complaining, though, not girls or gays.
Of mice and men
Bosses gathered the stars behind Struggling Show for a bonding session—to build group rapport.
During a break, Upstart Talent asked Veteran Performer about a rumored transfer to another studio.
Instead of denying the scuttlebutt categorically, VP proudly answered: “I’m staying put … for now.”
Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. You know what they say about mice and troubled ships.
Heard on the Radio Inquirer program “Kliq Showbiz” (dzIQ 990 AM, Monday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m.):
Pretty Starlet went shopping for swimsuits in a posh mall. She tried on five items but bought only four.
Creepy Salesclerk made sure to purchase the unbought bikini—purportedly as gift to his girlfriend.
A mole claims, however, that CS kept the swimwear for himself—to indulge some sick fetish. A thing for sniffing intimate apparel? Eeewww.
Picked up from the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Although she’s no spring chicken, Seasoned Actress is still a dynamo in bed.
Apparently, she is known for pretending to reach the heights of pleasure, to make her partners feel good. That’s quite a boost to any man’s ego.
According to a spy, Former Beau complained that SA once kept him in the boudoir for an entire week—a prisoner of love!
NEW YORK—Funeral services for actor James Gandolfini will be held at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York City 10 a.m. on Thursday (early Friday in Manila), an HBO spokesperson said on behalf of the family.
The 51-year-old star of “The Sopranos” died of a heart attack on Wednesday in Rome.
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesperson Steve Coleman told the Star-Ledger of Newark that a Signature Airlines flight carrying Gandolfini’s body arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport from Rome on Sunday night. The body was taken from the airport around 11:20 p.m. but Coleman did not say where.
The actor had been headed to Sicily to appear at the Taormina Film Festival, which paid tribute to him on Saturday. AP
Top of the talk shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Ai-Ai de las Alas, asked how she was coping with her breakup with Jed Salang: “I’m starting to heal … Lahat naman nahihilom ng panahon. Walang shortcut.” (Wisdom. May it persist.)
Ai-Ai on rumors that Jed has a sex video that he may use against her: “Wala pa naman akong nakikita so far. ’Pag meron na saka ako magre-react.” (Huwag na, ’teh, if you’re not denying that one such video was even shot.)
Daiana Menezes on her current state of mind: “I’m lost.” (OK, we’re getting off here.)
Charice on singing with Aiza Seguerra in the recent “Tambayan Hits” concert: “Thankful ako … sumali ako sa isang videoke singing contest. Ang nabunot ko, ‘Pagdating ng Panahon.’ Isa siya sa mga naging inspirasyon ko.” (At inspirasyon ka rin ngayon.)
Aiza to Charice: “Now that the public knows who you really are, be grateful. At the same time, whatever it is na personal thing mo, keep it to yourself. You don’t need to tell the whole world.” (Wise, wise words for anyone to heed.)
Dennis Trillo on his love team and “My Husband’s Lover” costar Tom Rodriguez: “Sa dinami-dami ng naging ladies ko, ngayong na-partner ako sa lalake parang mas lalo pa sila naging interesado sa ’kin.” (Two words: “Brokeback Mountain”)
Tom, asked if there’s awkwardness between him and Dennis when they shoot intimate scenes: “’Di naman maiiwasang ’di mailang kasi siyempre hindi natural sa ’min ’yung ginagawa namin. To Dennis’ credit, napaka-professional na tao. Ako tuloy napipilitan ding maging professional kasi nakakahiya naman kung si Dennis game na game, tapos ako pa ’yung mag-iinarte.” (It’s called acting.)
Dennis, asked if he ever doubted Tom’s masculinity: “Hindi. Alam mo agad kung ’yung tao may konting pitik. Mararamdaman mo. ’Di ko naman naramdaman ’yun kay Tom.” (Tom’s lovely girlfriend can attest to that. Kilala n’yo?)
Kylie Padilla, asked if her relationship with Aljur Abrenica has her father Robin Padilla’s blessing: “Alam naman ng lahat na medyo ayaw ni papa noong una. Pero ngayon … lumambot na siya sa idea dahil masaya naman talaga ako.” (For now.)
Mother Lily on not having a solo entry, for the first time, in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival: “Masakit din sa akin … because this is my passion. Na-depress [ako].” (There’s always next year.)
Marian Rivera on rumors that she declined Mother Lily’s offer to do a movie with Judy Ann Santos, because she wanted to have a solo project: “Wala po akong hini-hindian … Gusto ko lang po mas maayos, planado para mas maganda.” (And you will probably need it soon.)
Erik Santos on persistent rumors that he’s gay: “Kung anuman ’yung paniniwalaan nila, ’yun pa rin naman ’yung pinaniniwalaan nila, eh … bahala na kayo sa buhay niyo.” (Moving on…)
Enrique Gil, asked if he’s not closing his doors on the possibility of falling in love with Julia Montes: “Wala, bukas lahat! Whatever happens, happens. ’Yun lang.” (Anlabo naman kasi ng tanong.)
KZ Tandingan on rumors that she and Matteo Guidicelli are dating: “Lumalabas kami … pero isang dosena kami!” (Parang defensive?)
Charice, asked if she wanted a singing project with girlfriend Alyssa Quijano: “Pinag-iisipan po namin … puwede!” (Dapat puwede ka niyang sabayan.)
Kris Aquino on allegations that she’s doing her best to prevent James Yap from seeing their son Bimby: (’Wag na lang ito.)
Kris on James’ camp: (’Wag na rin ito.)
